Hawkers is an American food company that opened its first location on Colonial Drive in the Mills 50 district in 2011. Hawkers has been a VoiceOnyx customer since they launched.
“Our concept is street food,” says Kaleb Harrell, Co-Founder of Hawkers. “If you’ve ever traveled to Asia, you’ll know that the best food is always on the street.” Inspired by his trips abroad, Kaleb collected the best recipes from various countries in Asia and combined them in one menu.
“It’s a revolving menu because of the neverending possibilities for street food,” says Kaleb. “Our customers have an adventurous talent and want to try a lot of different things.” In order to emulate eating on the street, Kaleb created a menu that is similar to the Asian version of tapas.
Not only does Hawkers serve great food, but it also serves great drinks. Hawkers offers over 100 craft beers and displays an eclectic wine menu. Furthermore, this young and dynamic company has recently rolled out a full liquor bar with Asian-inspired cocktails.
Due to its huge initial success, Hawkers scaled and opened a second location in Jacksonville in 2013. “We opened in an eclectic neighborhood with a lot of character,” says Kaleb. Hawkers continued its expansion by opening its third location in Saint Petersburg in 2014. Kaleb reveals that the key to their expansion is “all about building the right team. It’s the key to our success.”
Hawkers partnership with VoiceOnyx goes back to the late 2000’s when Kaleb was still working in a marketing agency. “VoiceOnyx used to be our client,” proudly recalls Kaleb. “That was when VoiceOnyx was in its early phases and we helped them grow.” Kaleb kept in touch with VoiceOnyx and felt that Hawkers could benefit from their “great all-in-one business phone service solutions,” as he nicely puts it.
“VoiceOnyx’s prices are phenomenal,” admits Kaleb. “The team offers high levels of reliability and a ton of easy to use features.” The feature that Kaleb values the most is the custom message clients hear while on hold, according to the time of the day. “In the morning, the message is about catering. In the afternoon, it’s about happy hour. On Tuesdays, it’s about our take-out Tuesday promo,” explains Kaleb.
When asked what he would say to other businesses about VoiceOnyx’s customer service, Kaleb promptly declared that it would be “their fast response time. I can leave a voicemail or fire an email and it’s done the next day. I don’t even have to worry about it.” “I would recommend VoiceOnyx over competition based on a combination of service, functionality, and value – probably in that order,” confirms Kaleb.
