The VoiceOnyx Buddy List appears on the main screen of your Polycom phone. The screen allows you see which of your co-workers are on the phone (red line by name) and who is available to speak with you or accept a transferred call. Due to your ability to see your team members status in real time, this feature is also known as Presence Monitoring.
Who Sets up my Buddy List?
The technicians at VoiceOnyx will set up and update your Buddy List for each extension. Just keep us informed of any staff changes, and the Buddy List will be up to date at every phone. Keeping your extensions updated is also important if you customers are using a Dial by Name Directory.
Which Polycom phone will accommodate a Buddy List for my Team?
If you have over 4 staff members, you may want to consider purchasing the Polycom VVX 411, which doubles the number of free lines for your Buddy List to 10. For a smaller staff, the Polycom VVX 311 accommodates 4 buddies. If you’d like a larger Buddy List for a receptionist or more staff members, the Polycom VVX 600 provides 14 free key lines. You can view these phones and learn more about their other features on the VoiceOnyx Vault.
Buddy List keys can also accommodate external phone numbers. For additional storage of up to 100 numbers, utilize your Speed Dial Directory, located under your Home menu. Entries into the directory are made with your telephone key pad. The VVX 500 and VVX 600 models allow you to use a virtual keyboard to set up speed dial.
